Terms of Use
These terms govern your access to and use of Asslama. Please read them before creating an account or using the Service.
1. Accepting these terms
By downloading, accessing, or using the Asslama application, communication service, or asslama.app (together, “Asslama,” “we,” “us,” or the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you use Asslama for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age required to use online services where you live. If you are below the age of legal majority, a parent or guardian must review and accept these terms where required by law. You may not use the Service if applicable law prohibits you from doing so.
3. Your account and security
- Provide accurate information and do not impersonate another person or organization.
- Keep control of your device, verification codes, private keys, backup passwords, and recovery files.
- Notify us if you believe your account or the Service has been compromised.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.
Asslama may be unable to recover encrypted messages, private keys, or backups if you lose your device or password. A phone number can be reassigned by a carrier; you should update or stop using an account tied to a number you no longer control.
4. The Service
Asslama provides tools for private messaging, calls, contact discovery, notifications, and user-controlled encrypted backups. Available features may vary by device, region, app version, permissions, network conditions, and service configuration. Only features shown as available in your installed version form part of the Service provided to you.
Internet access, carrier service, SMS, data, iCloud, and other third-party services may be required and may create charges from their providers. You are responsible for those charges.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use Asslama to:
- Break the law, violate another person’s rights, or facilitate harm.
- Harass, threaten, exploit, defraud, stalk, or impersonate anyone.
- Create or distribute child sexual abuse material or other unlawful content.
- Send spam, unauthorized bulk messages, or deceptive invitations.
- Upload malware, interfere with the Service, evade limits, probe security without authorization, or disrupt other users.
- Reverse engineer or extract source code except where applicable law or an open-source license expressly permits it.
- Use automated means to access or scrape the Service without our written permission.
You retain responsibility for the content you send and must have the rights and permissions needed to share it. Encryption does not make unlawful conduct lawful.
6. Privacy and permissions
Our Privacy Policy explains how Asslama handles information. Some features require optional access to Contacts, Camera, Microphone, Photos, Notifications, or iCloud. You control these permissions through the app and iOS Settings, although disabling one may prevent the related feature from working.
7. Other users and third-party services
Asslama does not control other users or content they send. Use judgment before communicating with unknown people, opening files, or sharing sensitive information. Block, disengage from, or report harmful conduct when those tools are available, and contact local authorities in an emergency.
The Service may depend on or link to services provided by Apple, Twilio, internet hosts, mobile carriers, and other parties. Their terms and privacy practices govern your use of their services. We are not responsible for independent third-party services to the extent allowed by law.
8. Intellectual property
Asslama and its names, design, software, and materials are protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose. Components distributed under an open-source license remain governed by that license.
You retain ownership of content you create. You grant us only the limited rights technically necessary to transmit, route, display, and otherwise process that content at your direction to operate the Service.
9. Changes, suspension, and termination
We may update, add, remove, limit, or discontinue features; perform maintenance; or change these terms. If a material term changes, we will post the revised version and provide additional notice when required. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the revised terms.
You may stop using Asslama at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the Service, comply with law, address prolonged inactivity, or respond to a serious or repeated breach of these terms. Where appropriate and legally permitted, we will provide notice or an opportunity to appeal.
10. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free performance, fitness for a particular purpose, or preservation or recovery of data. We do not warrant that encryption or security measures can prevent every attack, device compromise, user error, or metadata disclosure.
Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Asslama and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid Asslama for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or US$100.
These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law, including liability that cannot be limited for fraud, willful misconduct, death, or personal injury.
12. Disputes and applicable law
Before filing a formal claim, please contact us and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve it. These terms are governed by the law that applies to the provider of the Service, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer protections and courts available in your country remain unaffected. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking urgent relief to protect safety, security, or intellectual-property rights.
13. General terms and contact
If one provision is unenforceable, the rest remain effective. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a reorganization or transfer of the Service. These terms and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement about your use of Asslama unless separate written terms apply.
Questions about these terms may be sent to legal@asslama.app. If email delivery is unavailable, use the developer contact method shown on Asslama’s App Store product page.
